Hey, It’s Tay!

Taylor is an Arizona based photographer, filmmaker, designer, and outdoor professional.

I’m just a gal who fell in love with the canyons, mountains, and rivers of the Colorado Plateau & I can’t wait to share the adventure with you!

I am a digital media creative located in Flagstaff, Arizona. I started with photography and motion film as a medium in 2016 when I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a bachelors in Journalism and an Emphasis in Photojournalism and Documentary Filmmaking. My work has expanded to include graphic design, website design, illustration, video editing, audio collection, media management, and adobe based a la carte editing.

If you have a digital creative need, I’m your gal.

The Grand Canyon is my muse - April through October I work as a river guide on the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park. My time in the canyon has been the gateway for my creativity and my most passionate work is made there.

I work with a variety of clients and my style is deeply rooted in photojournalism and documentary storytelling. I’ve primarily been working with small business owners in Northern Arizona and would like to continue broadening my professional reach. Please don’t hesitate to reach out, wether that is to work together or to just geek out over art and outdoor things.

Community and connection is the foundation of what I’ve come to love in this field of work.

Let’s get outside and make something beautiful!

My Time as an Educator

A Passion for Digital Literacy and Online Equity

I taught photography, graphic design, and digital literacy at a local Flagstaff middle school and high school for four years. During my time as an educator I began to realize how digital literacy is not a topic that most people know, but the world demands us to be literate with the use of technology, media, marketing, and online content.

I am a passionate believer in promoting digital literacy to create online equity for all people of all ages. We live in a time where being online is essential for not only our consumption of information but also our impact on our communities at large.

It is very important to me that folks of all ages continue to learn not only how to use the internet but also continue to learn how the world of online resources work for or against them. Algorithms, data sharing, ad targeting, marketing, and social sharing affect our lives so seriously and the only way to have autonomy over your digital interactions and decision is to understand the system as a whole.

Downstream Creatives is a design studio focused on branding, website creation, search engine optimization strategy and other digital asset consulting for nonprofits, businesses, artists, and those just starting their journey whatever it may be.

Downstream’s personal brand identity comes from Taylor’s time as a river guide on the Colorado Plateau. We all have a journey downstream from here and how you prepare yourself for the rapids below makes all the difference: clean design for clean lines.

Dig in and let’s give it an all forward for what awaits downstream.

Rivers - Mountains - Canyons

Taylor is an Arizona desert rat born and raised. As a child she grew up playing on the reservoirs of the Colorado River at Lake Mead and Lake Powell, little did she know she would end up dedicating her work and play to these places and what lie between them.

Taylor’s education at Northern Arizona University opened the door to all the adventure to be had on the Colorado Plateau. Rock climbing, high lining, white water river rafting, skiing, backpacking, mountain biking, and bike backing. She has made Flagstaff her home because of the amazing community and opportunities to be had in deep within canyons, atop mountains, and floating down rivers.

Taylor currently works as a river guide in the Grand Canyon and surrounding watersheds of the Southwest. You can find her on her days on and off frolicking with a camera, dusty as hell in the canyons of Arizona.

The style of Taylor’s work is heavily influenced by canyon country and time spent outside.
